The Swiss eyewear brand Götti has become particularly appreciated for its fine titanium frames. Here we find many of the qualities we ourselves think matter in a really good pair of glasses. They should be comfortable to wear, of high quality and, above all, look good even as fashion changes.

Götti works a lot with slim constructions and classic shapes. This makes many of the models feel quite discreet, while there is still plenty of personality in the design. A round metal frame, for example, can take on a completely different expression depending on its proportions, the shape of the bridge and how the temples are constructed.

Why is titanium such a good material for glasses?
There are several reasons why titanium is one of our favourite materials for metal frames. Above all, it weighs very little, which is a big advantage if you wear your glasses all day. At the same time, titanium is strong and resistant to corrosion.

Another appreciated quality is that titanium is generally a skin-friendly material. It rarely causes contact allergy and can therefore be a good choice if you are sensitive to nickel or have previously had irritation from metal frames. If you have a confirmed metal allergy, we are happy to help you check the material in the other parts of the frame as well.

Of course, it is not only the material that determines how comfortable a pair of glasses is. The size, the fit and how the frame is adjusted matter at least as much. That is why we always put great emphasis on the glasses fitting properly when we help our customers choose new frames.
Classic glasses that keep their style
One thing we really appreciate about Götti is that many of their models are fairly independent of trends. There are round glasses, square frames and classic pilot models that work just as well year after year.

That does not mean all glasses need to be discreet. A slightly larger metal frame can have plenty of character, even if the construction itself is slim. It is often precisely the small differences in shape and size that determine how a frame comes across once you put it on.
